How Long Does Treatment Last?

At Tampa Bay Recovery Center, we don’t believe in “one size fits all” treatment. We customize each person’s experience to ensure they receive the focused care that best addresses their unique needs. This means that the length of time that a person may need to spend in treatment at our center can vary depending on several factors, such as: How severely has the person been affected by addiction? Do they also need care for a dual diagnosis disorders? Will they need to receive treatment at multiple levels of care (such as starting with our PHP and then stepping down to our IOP for additional support)? What are their treatment goals, and have they been making steady progress toward achieving them? We discuss these and other important matters with each person before they begin treatment, and we continue the conversation throughout their time with us.

What is The Difference Between PHP and IOP?

The primary difference between our partial hospitalization program (PHP) and our intensive outpatient program (IOP) is the amount of daily and weekly care clients receive. At the PHP level, clients take part in five hours of treatment per day, five days a week, for a total of 25 weekly hours of care. Clients who receive care at the IOP level usually take part in three to five hours of treatment on a typical day. They may have the option of attending sessions three or four days each week. This flexible connection to structured care makes our IOP an ideal source of step-down support for people who need additional help after completing our PHP.

Can I Live From Home and Attend Treatment?

Yes. One of the many benefits of outpatient addiction treatment is that you have the option of living at home when treatment is not in session. At the partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient rehab levels, you need to be at our center only when you are participating in therapy or other treatment-related activities. All non-treatment hours are yours to use as you see fit. Of course, depending on the quality of support you receive from your loved ones, you may also explore alternative supported residence options. Your treatment team can answer any specific questions you have about living arrangements during and after your time in treatment.

Does My Insurance Cover Treatment?

Tampa Bay Recovery Center accepts most major forms of insurance. With your authorization, we can contact your insurance provider to confirm your coverage and verify your benefits. This will ensure that you understand which addiction treatment services are covered by your plan.

Can I Get Updates on My Loved One's Progress?

Family members can play an important role in their loved one’s recovery. This includes providing essential support both during and after their time in treatment. One way we support this effort is through family therapy.

Family therapy sessions allow family members to process how they have been affected by their loved one’s struggles. Family therapy can also help resolve conflicts or heal rifts among participants, so that they can function as a healthier unit moving forward. During family sessions, we may also discuss the progress that the client has been making in treatment, as well as any challenges or setbacks they have encountered.

The specific types of updates family members receive will depend on what is best for the individual who is receiving treatment. This and other decisions will be made by the treatment team, the individual who is receiving care, and the family members that the client has authorized to take part in family therapy sessions and receive update on their progress.
