Prescription Drug Rehab
Prescription drugs offer a variety of ways to help people get healthy. They can provide relief from pain, improve mental illness, and do many other things. The downside is that sometimes a person ends up becoming addicted to them. Tampa Bay Recovery designed a prescription drug rehab program that helps people face this troubling problem and overcome it. With our help, each person learns to identify triggers that keep them rooted in addiction. From there, they develop healthy coping skills to keep them from relapsing back into prescription drug abuse.
What are Prescription Drugs?
Types of Prescription Drugs
There are three basic types of prescription drugs that carry the highest risk of someone becoming addicted to them. They include:
Opioids: These include Oxycontin, codeine, fentanyl, Vicodin, and Lortab, and are commonly prescribed to treat pain. In 2021, a total of 16,706 people died from overdoses involving prescription opioid drugs. This includes opioids classified as natural and semi-synthetic, as well as methadone.
Depressants: These include benzodiazepines, tranquilizers, and barbiturates. Common brand names include Xanax, Librium, and Valium. These medications can help people who have anxiety disorders, sleep disorders, seizures, and muscle spasms.
Stimulants: These include medications such as Adderall and Ritalin and are used to treat attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), sleep disorders, and for weight loss.
How Does Prescription Drug Rehab Work?
We don’t believe that everyone who comes to us has the exact same story or needs. Our staff provides a thorough assessment in order to understand the history of each individual’s prescription drug addiction. We work together to set goals for becoming sober. In addition, we look for any co-occurring mental health disorders and also treat them. This includes conditions such as depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety disorders.
Once a plan has been created, we put together a schedule of treatment sessions. This allows the individual to move from one therapy session to another with an understanding of when each one takes place. They will also understand how each therapy modality works and what they can expect to gain from them. Any withdrawal symptoms can be identified and addressed via medical or psychological intervention.

Benefits of Prescription Drug Rehab in Tampa
Our staff makes helping people overcome their addiction a true priority. They understand how difficult it is to make it through detox and early recovery. As a result, they use their extensive training and experience to help people have an easier time becoming sober. Our prescription drug rehab program offers private, compassionate treatment not found in all facilities.
For those who qualify, we can provide medication-assisted treatment. This works well within the population of people addicted to opioids and alcohol. It involves a combination of talk therapy and using FDA-approved medications to help ease withdrawal symptoms.
